Who we are
We are a privately owned Day Nursery registered with OFSTED for 50 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years.
Tiny Robins Day Nursery opened in 2018. We have a dedicated qualified and caring team including a Children's Nurse/Health Visitor and highly motivated Early Years Practitioners with many years of experience in childcare and education.
We consult an experienced Early Years Specialist to ensure our provision meets all of your child's needs.
Our key person system ensures high quality care and that a strong bond is built with your children from their first session, this also ensures emotional security and that individualised care is promoted.
At Tiny Robins we are conscious of the fast pace of technology and the importance of protecting our environment. We have introduced an electronic secure app called "baby's days"© to track children's progress, development and day to day care. This provides secure access for parents, giving information and pictures of their child's day on their personal phones/computers.
At Tiny Robins we use In the moment planning. This individualised teaching and learning approach is child led with teachable moments based around individual child observation and adult interaction. All children achieve next steps and progress in all areas of development, increase skills and experience cultures and religions of the world.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
We follow the EYFS framework and our aim is to provide an inclusive, caring, safe, stimulating environment to promote self esteem and confidence in your child. A place where each child's individuality can be valued and nurtured ensuring they meet their full potential.
NutritionWe provide a healthy, balanced and age appropriate diet which will meet your child's individual, medical , cultural, religious and dietary needs.
All food is prepared and cooked freshly on site by our cook and all of our staff have food hygiene and allergen awareness training. All members of staff are paediatric first aid trained and we have a robust choking prevention policy in place. Our menu differs each week and rotates on a four weekly rota, also rotating a summer and winter menu for variety. At Tiny Robins we encourage children to self serve their meals and drinks, teaching them about portion size, trying new foods and fostering independence. This contributes towards a healthy lifestyle.. Fostering healthy Lifestyles
We use every opportunity in our daily routine to support health and wellbeing. We plan for physical play both indoors and outdoors and have introduced weekly yoga and music sessions which develops mindfulness. We encourage independence in personal hygiene including eating well, sleeping, cleaning teeth, washing hands and blowing noses. |

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We welcome all children regardless of ability/ disability/medical needs. We have extensive experience in supporting children and babies with additional needs including, physical, medical, developmental delay needs.
If your child has any special needs, these will discussed with you alongside any support services required (with your permission). We will plan to meet identified needs and record progress or lack of and inform parents of the impact this has had. It is our intention to support all children to progress at their own rate to achieve their full potential. It is important for your child's self-esteem not to compare them to other children and celebrate their individual achievements. We are a fully inclusive setting. We believe children only get one childhood and they deserve to get the support they need to thrive and prepare for happy, healthy and productive adulthoods. For children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), this is especially vital. We employ a nursery assistant who works on a one to one basis with children with special needs to help further support them.
We believe we are able to offer an individualised and dignified experience for children with SEND and hope to increase families’ confidence in the Care and education system. Some children with SEND in the Early Years will need access to increased staff:child ratios if their needs are to be met and, as a provider, the Equality Act 2010 says we must make “Reasonable Adjustments” to do this. We support children and their families to access funding where possible, this allows us to meet every child’s individual needs.
If you are struggling to access additional funding, the booklet “Childcare for Children with Families with Disabled Children” will offer advice.

Safeguarding
We adhere to all National and Local Safeguarding recommendations. We will always investigate if a child has an injury or ask for reasons for them displaying unusual/different behaviour. We monitor and report absences monthly and will follow up all absences on the same day. Extended absences are investigated and reported if needed. This allows us to safeguard and protect the children in our care. We have an open door policy for parents to ask us for advice, and support over any concerns they may have about their child's well being. We work closely with other agencies and will share information when required.
We follow all safer recruitment procedures and all staff have a current DBS which is checked and challenged regularly.
